MAIL GOGGLES

The world is now better. Google announced yesterday that they are adding some much needed enhancements to their Gmail system:
  1. PROBLEM: You click SEND and then realize that there is a mistake (or incorrect address) in the email. Gmail has solved your dilemma: if you realize you want to cancel an email within 5 seconds, you can UNDO SEND. Cool. That can save some uncomfortable situations!
  2. PROBLEM: You send an email referencing an ATTACHMENT, and you forgot to attach it. DUH! Gmail has solved this issue by installing the capability to identify the word “attachment” in the body, and “bounce” the email back to you if it does not have an attachment! I like it.
  3. PROBLEM: It’s late. You have been bar-hopping with your friends for hours and are feeling a little bit more than tipsy. You grab your Blackberry and see an email that really upsets you, and promptly respond. There is almost 100% chance that you said something you shouldn’t have, because you were “judgment-impaired.” Gmail can protect you, by enabling the optional MAIL GOGGLES, you are prevented from sending an email in the wee hours unless you pass a simple math test. Can I just say “brilliant”?

These and a few more interesting features are now available on Gmail. And while you are there, investigate GOOGLE VOICE. It is an equally amazing new service that can streamline your telephone services and provide VoIP…for free.

BTW, I am NOT a Google stockholder, and only benefit as a user and fan of the ubiquitous GOOGLE.

Tell me…are you feeling lucky?
